Do you need a masters in this field or could it just be BSN ? Also does that determine the pay?

I'm an LPN ,..attended a LPN to RN in my late 20s failed (working and school Full time) got discouraged,..credits expired and now I'm thinking of doing it all over again. I'm 45

I still haven’t been diagnosed for this, but it’s been happening for a few years now, maybe 6 or 7 years. I’ve only been to the ER once, but they just gave me some pills/capsules and I can’t recall whether they were effective. It still occurs with certain foods, mainly corn chips/flakes and strawberries for some reason. I’ve learned how to deal with it whenever it happens, trying to throw some up if it’s super bad, then attempting a burping motion until it goes through I guess. I haven’t experienced any weight loss, and symptoms haven’t worsened in the past 6-7 years. If anything, it has become less frequent. Can anyone give me some feedback?

Hey! I'm currently an RN going for my MSN in informatics, I'm going to finish just for that extra boost to a job. I was wondering where do you find nurses in informatics in your hospital? I don't interact with informatics nurses ever, I'm not sure where I would find them.

How about hospital sponsored nursing programs? Then you have your employer play for your BSN.

I dropped out of FNP school. I hated it . I got through 1 year of the program and started clinicals. I then shadowed a CRNA, I didn’t like it . Too much liability and I would be a nervous wreck . I now decided to go into IT and MBA and I am so happy and excited .!

I have ANCC's NI-BC, and yes, it is very general and expensive.

I'm cool with a pay decrease, being a noob to informatics. A common problem is getting that entry-level position; so many places just want experienced employees and don't want to foster growth. I am hopeful my current hospital will prove me wrong in this. I was told by our CIO that she wants 5 INs and currently has 1. She let me know a few days ago that a new position would be posted soon. 🤞🤞

Thank you, currently enrolling back into school. Debating my career, but I've always known I've wanted to help people. Health care has been an interesting route to me. No one has really explained how to get into it, only how it is to be a Registered Nurse. I appreciate this video.

This is unbelievable. I landed an informatics job just like you described! Small team in a large organization. I maintain my own data & media servers at my house and I'm in the MSN Informatics program at my local college with bedside nursing experience since 2001. Im sure that helped because it was steep competition. I'm so excited to begin next month! Great video!

Yay you did it!!! I am interested in that hypothesis scrub because of the video you made. Also, your description on the UA scrubs are on point. I wanted to love them so bad but other companies make better scrubs.

I love your attitude ! You seem super sweet and compassionate. I would def want you as my nurse. I have been having this weird mid stomach pain that would come once every 3-4 months. But intense pain. I would forget about it bc I had no other symptoms. When my co worker who is 29 told me he was having a colonoscopy bc his issues I remembers my stomach issues so I scheduled an appt to see gastro dr. He ordered labs , MRI abdomen with contrast , colonoscopy and EGD. Hs told me he is covering his bases but he thinks it’s a stomach issue. So colonoscopy and EGD completed . Colonoscopy completely normal. EGD they found mild inflammation of esophagus and took a few biopsies to check for h pylori and other things. I am currently on medication for my esopagitis. I have to take it for 2 months. My f/u is this Thursday to go over biopsy results. However , taking these meds is really making me burp. I don’t remember burping like this before. I was told stay off spicy foods , NSAIDs and try not to have anything with to much acid rt now like sodas and coffee. Well I’m staying off soda but I’m having my coffee in the morning after I eat ( so it’s not on empty stomach ). I’m going to ask Dr thur if I can still have just one cup or do I have to stay off it forever. 😩. Also I was told reduce stress. I didn’t think I was really stressed but when I think about everything going on in my life right now ( I’m a travel tech so I’m constantly traveling to different hospitals , I’m dealing with a cat on chemo , I’m constantly reading and watching videos on narcissistic family which is a whole other story , I’m writing a book and planning to move out of state etc. so maybe I’m more stressed then I thought I was
